Fine Art Portfolio
This section includes artworks I have created over the years in school and on my own time.
Reductive Woodcut Workshop
In 2024, I took a Reductive Woodcut Workshop at the Center for Book Arts as well. In this class we created learned how to operate a Vandercook press, how to properly carve a woodblock for reductive printing, mixed our own inks, and make our own prints!
Bookbinding I
In 2023, I took an Intro to Bookbinding course at the Center for Book Arts in New York City. In this class we created 6 books using predominantly non-adhesive methods.
Drawing 101
Part of my preparing for graduate school is taking studio art classes (i.e. drawing, painting, sculpture, etc.) So, since February of this year (2021) I have been taking a drawing class online; and, I have say, I definitely surprised myself.
Photoshop Projects
These are some of my favorite projects I've done using Adobe Photoshop. The first two digitally restored photos are the ones that I enjoyed the most! I had no idea at the time that objects like these could be treated by hand, let alone that there was a whole field that involved this type of work.
Advanced Photo Final Project: Shadows
This collection is from my Advanced Photography final project. I chose the theme of shadows because I have always loved the idea of shadows and how they create new shapes and forms in scenes. My inspiration came from studying black and white pictures where the subject is harsh shadows or the shadows complement the subject. With these images in mind, I challenged myself to imitate them and find these shadows in my surroundings.
Studio Photography
Studio work done for classes and just for fun. The assignments included concepts like Simple Portrait, Rembrandt Lighting, and Low-Key Lighting.
